The Curtin University of Technology Sarawak Campus extension was drawn up to improve facilities within the growing campus. The extension plan adheres to the original campus master plan and the desire to decentralize its facilities.

The Phase 2 extension encompasses lecture halls, a multi-purpose hall, general purpose building, campus services/ IT laboratory, cafeteria, students’ common room, child care centre, and a bookshop. The new buildings, while sensitively designed to be in scale and somewhat similar in style to existing buildings will also incorporate new elements such as the shape of walkways, sun-shading devices, membrane structures and other detailing. Key features include the lakeside cafeteria which will take full advantage of the waterfront promenade and lake view for the enjoyment of all. The child care centre is located away from the busier parts of the campus.
